1921 THE FORTY THIEVES Story PAINTING BOOKLET Hoffmann COFFEE Our Little Artist

This booklet was issued by the John Hoffmann & Sons Co. of Milwaukee , Wisconsin as an advertising premium, for their brand of OLD TIME Coffee.  I have not been able tind this series listed in any Guide or Catalogue that I am aware of (ACC Non-Sports Bible, Non-Sports Price Guide ect.).  According to the booklet itself there were 8 different booklets in the series and they must have been issued in 1921 as a contest is listed as ending in 1921 within the booklet.   The booklet itself has 6 pages including covers, and has an illustrated story within its pages.  The illustrations were done in black and white with the idea that the child could paint in the illustrations.  Thos one is number 7 in the series and features Aladdin and the Forty Thieves.  The artwork is unaccredited but looks very very similar to that of the work of John H. Eggers whose images adorn a few other story book series issued by different companies.    The booklet also offered two separate contests, for the best painted series of booklets, and the best painted version of their coffee label (found within the book).  With first prize in each being .00 cash, a Huge amount of money for the time.  I imagine why finding these booklets in any condition (painted or not) is very difficult.  You had to send your booklets into the company, and it makes no mention of sending them back, most would have been destroyed.   What kid would not try and win that kind of cash!   The booklet  measures 3 inches by 5 3/8 inches  approximately. The booklet does have some tarnish/rust on the staples, however it is unpainted, and free from creases.  I think it displays nicely.

I am actually located in Canada just across the border.  I have a U.S.A. mailing address, and I mail my items from the USA to avoid border delays.
Due to my work schedule and distance to the post office I am only able to ship  Monday Mornings
