    Description

ADVERTISING BOOKLET c1935 FOR LYNCHBURG AND ITS NEIGHBORS BOOK
Interesting old illustrated 11 page booklet (about 6 x 9") advertising the publication of the important Lynchburg, Virginia local history book
    "Lynchburg and Its Neighbors"
by Rosa Faulkner Yancey. Yancy's actual book was published by J. W. Fergusson & Sons in Richmond, VA in 1935. This undated pamphlet or booklet was apparently printed by them (c1935) to advertise their upcoming publication of Yancy's book.
Page 1 of the pamphlet is the off-white paper cover. There is one page with a half-tone photo of a "Packet Boat" that has no page number. The final page (page 11) has an
"Index of Some of the Names and Genealogies Included in the Book"
    .
The pamphlet is bound with 2 staples at the spine and is in good condition except for some staining & discoloration along the top right side of four of the last pages (see scan below).
This is an interesting old ephemeral advertising item of local history interest for the Lynchburg, Virginia area. It is just an 11-page advertising brochure however and
IS NOT THE FULL PRINTED VERSION OF YANCY'S BOOK ON LYNCHBURG!
The scan below shows the front & back covers of this old pamphlet and a few of its pages.
