Description
Offering avintage 1930's BRUNO LABS VELOTRON MICROPHONE
.
This old-timer was made by Bruno Labs for Webster-Chicago. William A. Bruno of the Bruno Laboratories in New York City invented the "Velotron" way back in the mid 1930's. The internal element consisted of a rather crude single wafer-like matrix, layers of metal "ribbons" sandwiched between a thin plate of copper, and required phantom voltage to operate. Unfortunately, at best they sounded like an old carbon mic. We removed that dead element and
installed a new studio quality ribbon motor
using powerful
Neodymium magnets
plus a Geistnote transformer.
Now now this thing
sounds fantastic
...rich tones, strong output, and does NOT require phantom power.
We
restored the mic's casing
with new paint and clear coat, and polished up that lower brass mount. This mic now looks as good as it sounds! A 3 foot cable with male XLR plug has been hardwired to the mic, and
the
adjustable-height desk stand is
included
.
