    Description

    Offering a
vintage 1950's ASTATIC DR-10 DYNAMIC MICROPHONE, upgraded sound, includes desk stand and cable
. Astatic Corporation shared some heady days with Shure, Electro Voice and Turner over decades. This DR-10 model might have been Astatic's attempt to compete with Shure's wildly popular 55 "Fatboy", with relatively the same size. The design was attractive enough, but lacked in sound quality having a crystal pickup element. (Over time, crystals typically fail from heat and moisture, as did this one.) We have removed that dead element and
installed a new dynamic element greatly improving its sonic profile
    . The
physical condition of the mic is very good
with only minor signs of use/age. The original Burgundy interior wind cloth is good front and back and the pivot joint holds the tilt angle securely. The mic head plugs into the F-11 adapter which threads to the
    included heavy based desk stand.
    We have installed
    brand new cable
, about 4 feet, with a 1/4" male phono plug. (We can swap for an XLR plug if you prefer at no charge.) The mic with stand is 14" tall, and the base is 6" in diameter, and is ready to plug and go!
