(which is proportionately and style-wise nearly identical to the 74B), and installed a new modern
high-quality
ribbon drive

The result...an accurate and respectable
recreation of RCA's famous 74B
. The physical condition of the microphone is flawless with a highly-polished chrome upper section and unblemished metal bottom casing with RCA badges front and back. The microphone head is mounted to a chromed ball-joint pivot and threaded to a Heil mic stand, which also replicates the original weighty RCA desk stands right down to that chromed accent strip in the middle with a 3rd metal RCA badge. Most importantly,
this mic delivers a rich, clean studio-quality signal
you would expect from a
fine ribbon mic
, with loads of output and a short cable with 3 pin male XLR plug. (The final photo shows a factory RCA 74B side by side with one of these clones...hard to tell the difference!)
