    Description

Rare, Holiday 1921 original issue of "Grocer's Forum", A Monthly Magazine Devoted to the Interest of The A.G.S. Retail Merchant.  The A.G.S. was the "American Grocers Society, Inc."
It is a sixteen page price list and product listing of items available to these grocery retailers from the A.G.S. warehouses.
Message printed on lower left of page one:  An Invitation.  Why not visit the great A.G.S. Packing Plant at Third and Pine Streets, in Elizabethport, the next time you come to New York City or happen to be in this vicinity.  What you see will amaze and please you.  You will be a thousand times convinced of a brilliant future of your organization once you see the great packing plant where A.G.S. products are being made.  You will be made welcome.  American Grocers Society, Inc.
Page one - six have products listed with many pictures.  Pages seven and eight are price pages for "Patent Medicines" available from A.G.S.  Pages nine - fifteen have many more available products listed and shown.  Page sixteen is the back page.  It has information on store insurance available to A.G.S. members, as well as a 1/3 page address information area where mailing addresses and instructions were shown.
Great piece of old ephemera.  But, it does show its age.  Paper is very thin and has darkened with age.  Two staples hold the pages together, and the outside pages one and sixteen are very loose and have a tear along the binding edge page fold about 1/2 way up the page.  Pages were originally folded into thirds, and these areas have deep, heavy bends.  Several pages having small tears have been repaired with clear tape.  There are other small tears on several other pages.
Look at the twelve pages I have scanned into this listing.  Use the eBay "close-up" feature to get a real close look at these pages.  The remaining four pages not scanned into this listing are in a similar condition.  Please email any questions before bidding.
Sold as-is, in condition as explained above.  Even though the condition is compromised, it's still a great old piece, with lots of interesting products described and shown.  It's the only one I've ever seen in my many years of collecting and selling paper products.
I'll place the booklet in a plastic sleeve and secure between two pieces of white foam core for mailing by USPS First Class in a bubble envelope.
